The paradisiacal landscape and attractions along the way are more than enough reasons to hike to Dois Rios, but Dois Rios Village is much more than just a breathtaking beach, this Village has a past full of history, scene of numerous events from colonial times when it was a farm until most recently when it hosted for many years a high-security Federal Prison. On the local today, we find the Museu do Carcere (prison museum) where is possible to learn the history of this famous prison and visit some permisses.
