It is also a haven for snorkeling fanatics who would like to be up-close and personal with the many turtles that live here and nice hiking trails for the active adventurer. Pinel Island, CaribbeanPinel island is a small tropical island off the coast of Saint Martin. Once you step on land you will find yourself in paradise with a beautiful white sand beach and turquoise blue waters. The main beach is very sheltered and always has very calm waters, so perfect for swimming or paddleboarding.
The island has two restaurants and you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas for the ultimate relaxation. Or you can go for a little easy hike with a beautiful view at the top. The island also has a nice gift shop for souvenirs and you can find sugar birds, iguanas and land turtles who are being fed by the restaurants. It is the first dock you see when you exit the parking lot through the little tunnel left of Great Bay Express.
