About the Activity
Come join us on a lovely 3.6-mile roundtrip hike through an Alaska State Park into the Tongass National Forest. Enjoy a small group of up to 7 guests! First relax on the 40-minute scenic drive to the end of the road. Then hike an improved gravel trail alongside a river with glimpses of waterfalls. Walk through a magical old-growth rainforest displaying impressive specimens of Sitka spruce and western red cedar fencing in the trail. Besides some stairs at the beginning of the hike, the trail flattens out and winds along the river valley below a ridge. 1 mile down the trail, our destination is a stone bench beside a serene bow in the river, where we can pause and enjoy one another and the peace and quiet. This tour is led by owner and operator, Tongass Teague. Enjoy connecting with him, each other, and the wilderness of Southeast Alaska. Ask about practicing mindfulness! Tour operator will pick up all customers from their respective locations- Travelers CANNOT choose a custom pickup or meeting location.
- TONGASS TEAGUE LLC MEETING INSTRUCTIONS CRUISE PASSENGERS: MEET INSIDE THE BERTH 3 GLASS SHELTER BY THE CITY MAP that butts up to Tongass Avenue. RIGHT NEXT TO SOCKEYE SAM'S @ 425 Water St, Ketchikan, AK 99901. WARD COVE GUESTS: Customers docked here will need to take a shuttle downtown to meet at the Berth 3 shelter. Pick-up may be requested depending on availability. Please contact Teague to see about the possibility of arranging a pick-up and/or drop-off. Non-cruise passengers: Please call Teague to arrange a pick-up location. Refer to the map on your ticket voucher to find Berth 3 from your ship's dock. The time listed on your ticket is the time of the tour's departure. Please be punctually mindful and arrive on time. Note: Face masks may be required and will be provided if needed. If masks are required and guests choose not to wear them, they will not be allowed on the tour and no refund will be granted.
