Welwitschia Plains
Swakopmund, NamibiaWe continue through the Desert, discussing Mining and desert research on our way to the Welwitschia Plains. here we stop and learn about this age old Desert plant that really only has 2 leaves coming out of the stem, there are male and Female plants and the interesting little bugs that pollinate them. We then drive through the Namib Nauklufft park , hopefully find desert animals, like Oryx , Springbuck or Ostriches. on our way to Solitaire. En-route we will have a light lunch and see Namibia's amazing geology. We learn about the larva flow era, mountain building era and the forming of the escarpment.
