Kohala Waterfalls & Valleys Helicopter Tour
Things to know
About the Activity
From lush tropical rainforest to dry, desert-like land, the Kohala coast has some of the most beautiful scenery on the Big Island. High in the sky, see beautiful waterfalls cascading thousands of feet into the rainforest below, where remnants of ancient Hawaiian settlements are still visible. Named after the oldest volcanic mountain, the Kohala Mountains dominate the area and are considered by many to be the most spectacular landscape in Hawaii. Towering sea cliffs make for a dramatic backdrop along the rugged coastline. Before returning, take in Waipi'o Valley, the childhood home of King Kamehameha I. Surrounded by cliffs up to 2000 feet high, view the ancient taro fields with rivers permeating the valley. Enjoy the multitude of cascading waterfalls and serene landscape of the mile-wide valley. Hear about the history of this majestic area from your helicopter pilot through your noise-cancelling headsets.45 minutes
