Join us for a 1.7 mile hike around Dierkes Lake at Shoshone Falls. Your interpretive guide will tour you to "The Hidden Lakes" where you will learn about the geology of the formation of this unique hidden treasure in Twin Falls, known mostly by the locals. As you continue on the loop you will climb a steep set of man-made staircases arriving atop the Snake River Canyon with views only available to those who dare to trek with us! Shoshone Falls

There, you will find yourself surrounded in ancient volcanic geologic history as your interpretive guide takes you back in time more than 15,000 years when Lake Bonneville overflowed its rim some 300 miles away ripping away Idaho's terrain and creating this stunning natural wonder ranked as one of the top three waterfalls in the United States.

Built in 1907, Shoshone Falls was the first power plant in Idaho’s Magic Valley. It was acquired by Idaho Power in 1916 and rebuilt in 1921. Shoshone Falls Power Plant is located on the Snake River near Twin Falls, Idaho, at river mile 614.7.
