About the Activity
We are the only tour company in Iceland that offers photo packages with every tour. With this activity, you will get to experience both the caves and ice climbing to the fullest for your private group. Each person will receive 25 professionally edited photographs sent via Google Drive within the week after your hike. - Exclusive to travelers from this booking.
This is one of the most unique experiences in Iceland. Ice Caves are typically only enjoyed in the summer months but for the adventurous, they can be explored year round with this summer ice cave. During this tour you will be lead by your guide who doubles as your own professional photographer, deep into the glacier. It is here that you will lean Ice climbing and how to use your crampons and ice axes. We will travel through exciting terrain and have many opportunities to put your ice climbing skills to the test. Throughout the hike, you will also learn about the history of Vatnajokull Glacier and how the ice forms and has moved throughout the centuries. After the tour ends, your guide will professionally edit your photos and email them to you within the week. These photos will be the perfect souvenir and memory of your adventure in Iceland!

Customers must make their own way to and meet at the start point- Travelers CANNOT choose a custom pickup or meeting location.

- Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
- In order to operate this tour we need 2 passengers minimum.
- Please email your Ice Climbing experience level to info@icejourney.is after booking: Beginner (never been on the ice before), Intermediate or Advanced. We ask for this, so we can pair you with the perfect guide.
- Please email info@icejourney.is your hiking boots size if required.
- Photos are edited and sent approximately 14 days after your tour.
- The minimum age for this tour is 8 in the summer and 10 in the winter.
