“Ćele Kula” tower is a unique monument of the brutality and retaliation of war not only in Europe but throughout the whole world. It was built by the Ottoman army in 1809 after the Čegar battle and made from the skulls of the fallen Serbain rebels. Čegar monument is a memorial to the casualties of the Serbian revolutionaries located on the place of the battle of 1809 in the First Serbian Uprising against the Ottoman forces.
