About the Activity
This is an authentic experience exploring an abandoned mine, with various optional challenges; involving climbing, an abseil, a tyrolean (short zipline) and a short boat crossing. There isn't anything artificial about this trip with the addition of safety anchors being the only changes you'll find in the mine, where necessary, as such, it is most similar to caving with the only lights being those on your headtorches (provided). This is the perfect family adventure, Stag/Hen do activity and couple challenge.5 hours

Explore an abandoned underground slate mine following the old quarryman's footsteps, with various optional challenges along the way, including; climbing, an abseil, a short tyrolean/ zipline and a short boat crossing. All of which can be avoided by scrambling around.
This is an authentic experience with the only changes to the mine being the addition of safety anchors where necessary, as such, it is most similar to caving with the only lights being those on your headtorches (provided).
There will be options to learn about history and processes that created these caverns and tunnels, for those that are interested. If you've been underground before, get in touch, we have a number of underground adventures to keep you coming back for more.
This activity is very popular with families and school groups, but we also guide a number of couples and adult groups. There is about a 30minute walk up hill to approach this mine and at the end of the trip you'll emerge near the top of the mountain and hopefully have lovely views walking down.
All under 18's must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.View Location

This activity is located just outside of Betws y Coed. A google maps link to the meeting point will be sent once your booking has been confirmed. This is the closest place to mine with parking & mobile signal. From here there is a 15 minute drive in your own vehicle to get to the activity location.View Location

Customers must make their own way to and meet at the start point- Travelers CANNOT choose a custom pickup or meeting location.
