Placenames & Their Amazing Stories: with a West Cork Picnic
Things to know
About the Activity
The World's only daily Placenames Tour and includes a picnic lunch! Join us on one of the most beautiful walks in West Cork and together we will explore one of the most interesting sections of the Wild Atlantic Way, using toponyms - the language of its placenames. It is said the mighty inscribe their toponymy on the landscape. Gaels, Vikings, Normans, Spaniards, Pirates, English and the Irish all controlled this section of coastline at one time or another and they all left their mark in the toponyms and microtoponyms of this beautiful area.3 hours to 4 hours
