About the Activity

Take a guided trip on an open-top kayak down the Svartá River. Meander down this gentle river that weaves its way through the peaceful landscape surrounded by scenic north Iceland mountain views and bountiful local wildlife all nestled in the Skagafjörður fjord. In this part of North Iceland which is particularly famous for its horses. Apparently, it is the only part of Iceland where horses outnumber people and if you are lucky enough they might even take a break from their grazing and follow you for a spell. Whether you are after a few splashes or a shorter relaxing drift we can find a starting point on the river for you. This tour is weather dependent, you will get a little wet due to the design of the kayak. It’s a good recreational activity for anyone at any skill level. Age limit is 12 years unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please specify when booking if you will be bringing individuals younger than 12 for the trip.
