San Nicola
San Nicola, ItalyThe island of San Nicola, the "Montecassino of the Adriatic", the only example of an abbey-fortress on an island, has been a crossroads of cultures and religions for millennia which have made it an extraordinary example of dialogue between various eras. San Domino
San Domino, ItalySan Domino is the largest of the Tremiti Islands archipelago and certainly the most beautiful for its landscape aspects, called "The Garden of Paradise" by the friars; It is covered by a characteristic pine forest of Aleppo pines, which can be easily visited by following the equipped paths, passing through the typical plants of the Mediterranean scrub such as myrtle, rosemary, phillyrea, mastic and juniper.
Cala Matano is a beautiful natural inlet which descends sheer into the sea, leaving a small cove at the bottom, which can be accessed from above thanks to a path. Its name derives from the duchess of the same name. It is equipped with umbrellas and deckchairs.
Then there are Cala dello Spido, Cala degli Inglesi, Cala dei Benedettini, Cala Tamariello and Cala Tonda, beautiful to look at because it forms a suggestive lake.
Cala delle Arene is the only sandy beach of a certain size in the Tremiti archipelago.
