After a warm welcome at the pickup point in Indore, proceed to Ujjain covering a distance of 55 KMs in 1.5 hrs approx. This city has a Jyotirling out of 12 Jyotirlings, one city out of seven salvation providing cities, Gadhkalika and Harsiddhi, the two Shakti Peeths, and sacred Kumbh that takes place in four cities of India. The cave of king Bhartari is found here and it is believed that Ujjain has footprints of God Vishnu. God Rama himself performed his father’s last rites after his death at Ujjain and therefore the place where the ritual took place called ‘RamGhat’. Chintaman Ganesh Temple

Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple

This temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is architected in Chalukya & Maratha styles and houses a Shiva Linga which is believed to be Swayambhu (self-manifested). Marble pathways lead way to the chamber where the deity resides. The temple has three floors dedicated to Mahakalesvara, Omkaresvara and Nagachandresvara, respectively. A small pond (Koti Tirtha Kund) is also present. This temple serves both a historical significance as well as a spiritual purpose being one of twelve Jyotirlingas designated by Hindu tradition.
