About the Activity

Unique for this trip is that travelers will get a taste of Icelandic nature, birds, and wildlife. It is a big part of the experience to take a look at the river on the way to the sea The maximum number of travelers in each trip is 8 persons and they will get personal guidance on the trip and can ask questions if they need and get personal answers from a local guide who is living in this area. Travelers will also get information about the culture in the same area. An example experience is to take a look at the waterfall in the area before or after this trip and look at the Glacier River Jökulsá á Fjöllum in Vatnajökull National Park and see where the river is falling down to the sea with all the Seals and birdlife. How the river has through the years shaped the area. Example of a waterfall in this area is Dettifoss, Selfoss, and Hafragilsfoss that is a well-known waterfalls. Travel Itinerary

People who join this trip will experience and get a taste of Icelandic nature and wildlife. This is að guided tour and the guide (who lives in the area) will tell the guests the story of the area and how it was made by glaciers and volcanos through the years of 1972-1976. The guest will drive between the Glacier River Jökulsá á Fjöllum and a huge lake that was made by this eruption in this period. This river is the same river that is running down Dettifoss waterfall and all other waterfalls in the area. Where this river goes to the sea in the area guest will see a lot of seals that are living on the river over the summertime. The guide will have a telescope so guests can get a closer view. Driving Quad ATVs in this area and on the road there is easy and suitable for ATV driving beginners of all years. The guide will take care of that all guests that want to try to drive will do that.
