The Witch House at Salem
310 Essex Street, Salem, United States, 01970-3257The Witch House was the home of Jonathan Corwin (1640-1718), uncle of High Sheriff George Corwin. It is the only extant building with direct ties to the Salem Witch Trials. Jonathan Corwin served on the court of Oyer and Terminer that convicted the witches. Roger Williams also lived in the house before founding Providence Plantation (Rhode Island). The house was moved 11 meters from its past location to accommodate road widening in the 1940s.
