Meal Beach
United KingdomWorking our way back to the Shetland Mainland, we pause at Meal Beach.
Meal is one of the most popular beaches in Shetland, and for good reason. Beautiful white sand gently slope into the clear turquoise water. The beach is also quite sheltered, so combined with some facilities it is an ideal spot for families.

Scalloway
Scalloway, United KingdomOur next stop is at Carol's Ponies, where you have a chance to meet, learn about and photograph these wonderful animals. The breed originated in Shetland as packing ponies but due to their huge appeal can now be found all over the world, being especially popular as riding ponies for children and a companion to horses. Carol, the stud owner, will explain in detail about these beautiful animals. Please remember that they have strong teeth and can nip so please do not feed the ponies!

For children there is Captain Blackbeards Pirate ship and other child friendly sites to explore.
