This is where you will settle down to enjoy your lunch and soak up the relaxing sounds of these waterfalls. Akame town is an amazing place to experience Japan's amazing old culture. Japan salamander center has reopened as an aquarium in April 2024.
Based on the concept of "an aquarium connected to the nature of TheAkame48Falls," this huge aquarium is integrated with real waterfalls and the valley where special natural monuments live.

Akame 48 Waterfalls

This area is famous for many things and one of the most interesting is that this was the birthplace of the famous Japanese ninjas!
It takes about three hours to walk the complete trail there and back.
We are NOT going to walk the full trail.
We're going as far as the Nunobiki Falls. It will take about 25 minutes one way.
If you want to go on the end of the trail, you can do so on your own. When you return to the start, you can take a bus or taxi back to Akameguchi station.
