Iya Kazura Bridge
Nishiiyayamamura Zentoku, , Miyoshi, Japan, 778-0102Iya Valley is a remote area in the middle of Shikoku surrounded by deep woods and ideal for trekking. Inside this lush greenery, you can find some vine bridges suspended in the air. These bridges may appear ancient, but they are actually quite recent and therefore safe to cross. They were designed to resemble the bridges that the Taira clan used to build during the Genpei War (1180-1185) as an escape route from their enemies. Since the bridges were made of vines, they could be easily cut in case the enemies attempted to use them. Travel back in time and walk across one of Kazurabashi vine bridge, taking stunning photos of the surrounding scenery.

One of the best ways to experience the beauty of Oboke Gorge is by taking a sightseeing boat trip. From the boat, you will be able to admire the breathtaking scenery of the rock formations and the vibrant colors of the surrounding trees - green in summer and red in autumn.
