We will explore the history through sight, sound, and food, stopping off to meet local people who are continuing to shape the future of Charlotte. Johnson C Smith University is a Presbyterian college that initially started to train black men in ministry. It subsequently became a coed school educating black men and women. Today it is part of the future of our city by partnering with city leaders to ensure that students are being educated on relevant subjects in order to take part in the highly technical future in this country. It is one of the only urban universities in the City and is home to many of Charlotte's oldest standing buildings.
