About the Activity

Our Marrakech tour digs deep into what the city's cuisine is all about. It's a crash course in the street eats of the city, how they are made and their fascinating history. After four hours of gorging, you'll be ready to take on Moroccan's cuisine all by yourself. Explore markets and bakeries, pastry shops and grill houses, olive stalls and street carts. Forget soggy *sfenj* and mediocre tagines. Over four hours you'll dig deep into this culinary powerhouse. Expect trays of sardines crackling with cumin in a wood-fired bakehouse, smoky chicken skewers sizzling over charcoal, simmered escargot in ras el hanout, soothing bowls of harira with sweet-caramel dates, slow-cooked rabbit tagine and many more surprises. It's more than that though. It's a crash course in the culture behind the food, the answer to all those culinary questions: Why is bread so sacred? What is argan oil? Meeting and Pickup

Starting point

The tour starts from the arches of the Bab Doukkala gate. There are two smaller pedestrian arches either side, one of which is next to a little kiosk - where your guide will be waiting. The two central arches of the gate have roads that lead between the medina and the new town. View Location

The tour concludes near to the central Djemaa-El-Fna Square. Your guide can help you with directions or find transport to return back to your hotel or riad. View Location
