About the Activity
An active food blogger and member of the Mykonos Gastronomic Club, Angelina is passionate about sharing forgotten Greek and Myconian recipes featuring locally produced and seasonal ingredients. During your hands-on cooking lesson Angelina will teach you how to handle filo dough to prepare savory and sweet dishes like feta parcels with honey and sesame (or spanakopita!) and the easiest baklava. She will also show you how to prepare a main dish or salad. As you learn to cook with a small ouzo in hand (indoors or outdoors), Angelina will help you understand Cycladic island gastronomy. Angelina focuses on Mykonian produce and seafood caught off the island's shores. This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Learn to prepare a traditional Greek meal and a few local specialties in Angelina's kitchen in this Mykonos cooking class. During your hands-on cooking lesson you will help Angelina to assemble both savory as well as sweet dishes like feta parcels with honey and sesame (or spanakopita if there is fresh spinach available) and the easiest baklava. She will also show you how to prepare the main dish, either shrimps saganaki in fresh tomato sauce with feta chunks or grilled calamari with basil pesto orzo or orzotto (like risotto but with orzo pasta) with calamari and summer vegetables. As you learn to cook with a small ouzo in hand, Angelina will help you understand Cycladic island gastronomy. You will discover how less becomes more in the Greek island cuisine, turning the limited produce of the islands into a deeply satisfying meal. After you cook, sit down to share the meal you helped to prepare. Angelina is excited to share her culture through food and offer an authentic cooking class in Mykonos. - For groups of 2-4, you will be hosted in Angelina's Chora home, you have to walk for 5-10 minutes from the Sea Bus and/or taxi drop off to Angelina's Chora home, it can be reached on foot only. For groups of 5+, return transportation to Angelina's Lia home is included in the cost.
- Angelina is only available on Mykonos in the summer months, from May - October, and she has limited availability.

She will meet you at the entrance of the small pier where the seabus stops. Here is a Google Maps link to the meeting location: https://goo.gl/maps/UM2PgPVxLf1ybYwc8 Her house is very close to the old port (and main city name on the island) called Chora that is frequently connected to cruise lines. The Saint Nicholas church is at this port. Angelina's house is 100 steps or so from the port, smack in the Chora centre, near taxi drop-off and the open-air farmers and fish markets. It can be reached on foot only (5 minutes walk from Sea Bus and/or taxi drop off). There is a SeaBus service (departing every half hour) which connects the cruise boats that dock at the bigger port to this little old port (a 15-20 min boat ride). If you take the SeaBus, this is the final stop so please make sure you inform the sailor in charge, right at the ticket booth, that you need to stop here. For group sizes 5+ (Lia house): Angelina will host you at her Lia house, near Lia beach (Address: Παραλία Λία, Μύκονος, Kalafati 846 00). PLEASE reach out to Angelina with your hotel details at least 5 days before your experience as she will arrange for a pick up and drop off, which is included for groups of 5+.
