About the Activity

Escape from the crowded tourist areas for a private, 90-minute, 1-on-1 surf lesson near Lahaina, Maui. Choose from an early-, mid-, or late-morning time frame. This surf session will focus on water safety, proper surf technique, surfing style, and etiquette. The experienced, professional instructor guarantees students will stand up, catch a wave, and leave the beach as a certified surfer. All lessons are private so they will never combine guests from separate parties. All the necessary equipment — rash guard, state-of-the-art soft-top board, and reef shoes — included.

Departure Point: Mile Marker 19 off Highway 30 (Honopi'ilani Highway), two miles south of Lahaina at a surf spot known to locals as 'Guardrails.' Note: GPS locations do not work with the mile markers on Highway 30 (Honopi'i'ani Hwy), where the beach is located. Directions: From Lahaina/Kaanapali/Kapalua resort areas: Drive two miles south of Lahaina on Highway 30 Honoapiiliani Highway. Look for Puamana Beach Park on the ocean side. The meeting location is called 'Guardrails,' which is located 500 yards past Puamana Beach Park, on the ocean side, exactly across from mile marker 19 off of Highway 30 Honoapiiliani Highway. There is a little gravel parking lot to park. The instructor will be at this location 10 minutes prior to the start time of the surf lesson. Check in 10 minutes early at 'Guardrails' surf spot, Mile Marker 19, Highway 30 (Honopi’ilani Hwy). This should provide enough time to apply sunscreen and let it sink in before getting in the sun and water. The instructor will be in the parking area 10-minutes before the lesson start time. For example, if the lesson starts at 9:20am, the instructor will be there at 9:10am. Dates: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and SaturdayView Location
