L ' Isola Madre is the largest of the' archipelago of the Borromeo on Lake Maggiore. 220 meters wide and 330 long, the islet is occupied by some buildings and above all by gardens. In ancient times it was called Isola di San Vittore and later Isola Maggiore. The island is occupied by a number of buildings and architectural structures and is especially well known for its gardens.
