Castle of BernaldaThe castle of Bernalda rises in the homonymous locality , in the province of Matera. The castle is located in a dominant position on the Basento valley facing south-west. It was built in 1470 but recent discoveries trace the presence of a fortification back to the Norman era and the shape of its towers suggests that it was even of Angevin origin . The current castle is the one built by Bernardino de Bernaudo, secretary of King Alfonso II of Naples.

Oasis of Bosco PantanoThe Bosco Pantano di Policoro oriented nature reserve is a protected natural area located in the municipalities of Policoro and Rotondella, in the province of Matera. The reserve covers an area of 500 hectares and was established in 1999, 21 of which are oases of WWF Italy called "WWF Policoro Herakleia". The reserve includes the site of community interest (SIC) “Bosco Pantano di Policoro and Costa Ionica Foce Sinni”.

Museo Archeologico Nazionale di MetapontoThe National Archaeological Museum of Metaponto is a museum located in Metaponto, in Basilicata. Tramontano castleSituated on a hill near the town centre, In Aragonese style, the castle, with a central male and two lower side towers, one and the other round, scalloped and equipped with loops, was built from 1501 by Giovanni Carlo Tramontano, Count of Matera. Montalbano Jonico is an Italian town of 7 057 inhabitants in the province of Matera in Basilicata. On 2 April 2009, the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano awarded the town of Montalbano Jonico with the honorary title of city. Some courses and services of the University of Magna Græcia of Catanzaro have been based. The reconstruction of the historic site of the houses in Via de Albertino is currently underway, as well as the opening of new construction sites in the center.
