Whitgift LighthouseWhitgift Lighthouse at Ousefleet stands as a reminder of an earlier age, one when the county’s rivers were a lifeline for heavy industry. This lighthouse was a vital touchstone for vessels going to and from Goole and onwards to the North Sea. Hessle ForeshoreHessle Foreshore is situated in front of the Humber Bridge Country Park on the River Humber. Being at the start of the Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail it is great for walkers. You can either go down onto the stones, or you can follow Jean’s Walk all the way along to the main part of the Foreshore. The path is part of The Yorkshire Wolds Way and is great for bikes or scooters and you can follow it along the banks of the river Humber.
