About Foxton Locks
Foxton Locks are ten canal locks consisting of two "staircases" each of five locks, located on the Leicester line of the Grand Union Canal about 3 miles west of the Leicestershire town of Market Harborough. They are named after the nearby village of Foxton. As well as the longest and steepest staircase locks in the UK, the site is home to the remains of the inclined plane, a magnificent, if slightly weird, piece of Victorian engineering.Address : Gumley Rd, Foxton, Market Harborough LE16 7RA, UK
