Girvan is one of Ayrshire's most popular beaches, and the town offers a variety of traditional seaside activities. Girvan enjoys spectacular views over Ailsa Craig, a wildlife and bird haven, the Firth of Clyde, the isle of Arran and Mull of Kintyre on a clear day. Sit on the shore and admire the wonderful views towards the Isle of Arran and the Mull of Kintyre. Watch the boats using the harbour, and you may even spot a visiting seal.

The McKechnie InstituteThe McKechnie Institute is located at the intersection of Ailsa Street and Dalrymple Street in the town of Girvan in South Ayrshire. Built in the Scottish Baronial style with some Renaissance detailing, its architects McKissack & Rowan of Glasgow, also designed Girvan's North Parish Church. The ground floor originally contained a library, reading room and ladies room, with a billiards room and a Librarian's house on the first floor.

Stair ParkStair Park is Girvan's shorefront park and remnants of the sand dunes from which it was created can still be seen in its undulating form.
