Írott-kőÍrott-kő is the highest point in the Kőszeg Mountains and Transdanubia at 882 meters. It is one of the highest mountain peaks in Hungary. Aussichtsturm GeschriebensteinThe Geschriebenstein with 884 meters the highest mountain in Burgenland and western Hungary . It is the highest point of the Günser Mountains and the easternmost foothills of the Alps. Instead of a wooden tower, which the village of Güns had built in 1891 on the Geschriebenstein, the village of Rechnitz built the still preserved stone lookout tower in 1913 right on the state border. The initiator was the tax notary Ladislaus Gullner, the master builder was Josef Varga from Rechnitz.
