About Folklore Museum
The Folklore Museum in the Austrian capital of Salzburg has been housed in Hellbrunn's monthly palace since 1924 , which was built in 1615 for Archbishop Markus Sittikus as a viewing palace high above the ornate princely palace garden. Many treasures of Salzburg’s folk culture are presented here on three floors. MonatsschlösslThe Monatsschlössl is on the Hellbrunner mountain in the park of Hellbrunn Palace in the southern Austrian city of Salzburg situated hunting lodge of the 17th century. Today the rich folklore museum of the Salzburg Museum is set up in the monthly castle . The collection, founded in 1904, provides an insight into the Salzburg folk culture with exhibits of customs , popular piety, home decor and folk medicine. The traditional costumes typical for Salzburg districts are also shown.
Hellbrunner BergThe Hellbrunn mountain is the southernmost city mountain in the city of Salzburg . It is entirely located within the palace gardens of Hellbrunn Palace and the Hellbrunn Zoo. The mountain has a settlement history of at least four thousand years, stretching from the Neolithic to the pre-Roman La Tène period. It is one of the iconic location in this area and it offers nice views too.
Schlosspark von HellbrunnIt is 400 years old and the oldest preserved stately avenue in the world. The total distance is about 2.5 kilometers and is a protected part of the landscape. It was created at the behest of Prince Archbishop Markus Sittikus, who wanted to take the straight route from the city to nature. An impressive 621 trees still line the path, along which there are many stately houses. The avenue is car-free and reserved for walkers, runners and cyclists.

Schloss HellbrunnAn early Baroque villa of palatial size, near Morzg, a southern district of the city of Salzburg, Austria. It was built in 1613–19 by Markus Sittikus von Hohenems. Hellbrunn was only meant for use as a day residence in summer, as the Archbishop usually returned to Salzburg in the evening; therefore, there is no bedroom in Hellbrunn.
