Amsterdamse Bos is Amsterdam’s largest park and recreational area. The lush forests and grassy meadows offer plenty of space for a relaxing picnic with family or friends, and the park is crossed by many kilometres of well-marked walking and cycling paths. The park was mainly built in the early 1930s, mostly by the unemployment relief. Annually, almost 4.5 million people visit the park, which has a size of 1,000 hectaresand is approximately three times the size of Central Park in New York City.
