About Oostersluis
The Oostersluis is the large lock between the Van Starkenborgh Canal and the Eems Canal , both CEMT-class Va. The lock is located on the east side of the city of Groningen , in the watershed between the basin of De Waterwolf and that of the Eemskanaal. The lock was built in the 1930s and rebuilt in the 1990s because it did not meet the requirements imposed on the lock in connection with the subsidence caused by gas extraction .Address : Oostersluis, 9731 AV Groningen, Netherlands
