The Chiricahua Mountains are located in southeast Arizona in Cochise County and the summit, It is the highest point of the county and one of just 57 "Ultra" prominent peaks in the lower-48 states, with over 5,000 feet of prominence above the desert floors.Much of the peak was severely burned in recent times, which creates vast open views across the landscape.
