What travellers say about Kleiner Barmstein
A limestone mountain with steep slopes on both sides and a narrow top. There are two here actually, Kleiner Barmstein(small Barmstein) and Großen Barmstein(large Barmstein): we only climbed the smaller one.
The pathway is through forest, sometimes it can be very muddy. The last climb is quite steep but there are ropes and railings to help.
The spot is popular for rock climbers. The view from top is breathtaking as well as scary.
Know more about Kleiner Barmstein
Kleiner BarmsteinKleiner(Small) Barmstein and the nearby Großer(Great) Barmstein are two rock towers in the border of Austria and Germany, raising above the Austrian town of Hallein. They are each about 841 and 851 meters above sea level. Both the rock pinnacles are popular with climbers and also be climbed using rock steps with railings and secured cables. In order to reach the towers, a 2 to 3 hour hike is required through the beautiful lower Alps mountains.
