The Holbrook Reservoir is located in Otero County, Colorado. The reservoir was created in 1901 by the damming of the Holbrook River. It is the largest reservoir in the county, with a capacity of nearly 9,000 acre-feet. The reservoir is a popular recreation spot, offering fishing, boating, and camping opportunities. The reservoir is also home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, elk, and bald eagles. The Holbrook Reservoir is named for John R. Holbrook, who was instrumental in bringing water to the area for irrigation and other purposes. Today, the reservoir continues to play an important role in the region's water supply.

The reservoir is located just north of the town of La Junta, and can be reached by taking Highway 71 north from La Junta. turn onto County Road AA at mile marker 168, and follow the signs to the reservoir. 

The entrance fee for Holbrook Reservoir is $5 per vehicle or $3 for pedestrians/bicyclists per day.
