History of Rosemount Museum

Rosemount Museum is a historic house museum in Pueblo, Colorado. The museum is located on a site that was once part of the short-lived town of Rosemount, which was founded in 1886 and abandoned in 1888. The house was built in 1887 by William and Rebecca Rose, who were among the first settlers of the town. The house remained vacant for many years after the town was abandoned, and it was eventually donated to the Pueblo Historical Society in 1953. The society restored the house and opened it to the public as a museum in 1954. Today, the museum is operated by the City of Pueblo and houses a collection of artifacts from the early history of Pueblo County.
