To reach Hahns Peak, take U.S. Route 40 west from Steamboat Springs for about 9 miles (14 km). Turn right (north) onto County Road 129 and follow it for about 3 miles (5 km). At the fork in the road, bear left onto Forest Road 606 and continue for about 2 miles (3 km) to the summit parking area.

While there is no formal entrance fee to explore the mountain, there are several recommended donation sites where visitors can contribute to help maintain the trails and keep the area clean.

Hahns Peak is open all year round, but the hours vary depending on the season. In the summer, the peak is open from dawn until dusk. In the winter, the peak is open from 9 AM until 4 PM.
