The town of Silverthorne is located in Summit County, Colorado, about 30 miles from the state capital of Denver. The town remained relatively small until the 1970s, when it underwent a period of growth thanks to the development of ski resorts in the area. In order to properly explore Silverthorne, Colorado, one should plan to spend at least three days in the town.

From Denver, take Interstate 70 west to Exit 205 for Silverthorne/Dillon. Head south on Colorado 9 for 3 miles, then turn left onto Rainbow Drive. Follow Rainbow Drive for 1.6 miles until you reach Rainbow Court. Turn right, then take an immediate left onto North Blue River Parkway. Continue on North Blue River Parkway for 1 mile until you arrive in Silverthorne. Located just off of I-70, Silverthorne is a convenient spot to base yourself while exploring all that Summit County has to offer. 

There is no entrance fee to explore the town, though visitors may need to pay for parking or activities. 

Silverthorne is open year-round, and its hours of operation vary depending on the season. In the summer, the town is open from 9 AM to 9 PM, and in the winter, it is open from 8 AM to 8 PM.
