Concord Covered BridgeThe Concord Covered Bridge is a beloved landmark that has stood the test of time. Built by Edward Purse in 1872, it is one of the few surviving examples of metal trussed covered bridges ever seen. The bridge measures 128 feet in length and was originally designed to transport farm goods from one side of the creek to the other.

Cheatham HillCheatham Hill, is known for its connection to historic events of the civil war. This area was the site of a defining battle in July 1864 and has since been dubbed “The Hell Hole” due to its ferocity during that fight. During the months after this battle, Cheatham Hill served as a Union garrison, though the original hill no longer exists as it was leveled when Interstate 75 was constructed. A memorial monument serves to remind visitors of this history.
Illinois MonumentThe Illinois Monument stands 30 feet tall and is a beautiful dedication to fallen heroes from Illinois who fought alongside the Confederate army during the Civil War. The monument was first erected in 1889 by the Daughters of the Confederacy and depicts Cpl. James Stone, an Illinois private in the war, leaning against his abandoned rifle with his right hand on his hip and face turned away from the viewer.
Sweetwater CreekSweetwater Creek is a beautiful and often overlooked spot. The creek offers an extensive trail system that leads hikers through fields, along the stream, past century-old mills, and around peaceful ponds. The path winds through dense forest and along large rocks that are great for taking in the surrounding landscape. It's truly a unique slice of Georgia nature that brings hikers back time and again. Wildlife abounds here with turtles sunning themselves on logs and eagles soaring overhead.
Taylor-Brawner ParkTaylor-Brawner Park is a picturesque outdoor space that captures the beauty of nature and provides numerous recreational opportunities. Visitors can enjoy a 3.2 mile walking path, playgrounds, a soccer field, disc golf and a lake where fishing is permitted with a valid state license. The park also offers 20 different picnic areas complete with grills, tables and benches for large gatherings or small get togethers.
