About Opalka Gallery

The Opalka Gallery in Albany County, New York is an art gallery located in the Erastus Corning II Tower. Founded in 1988, the Gallery is run by the Albany Institute of History & Art and focuses on the visual arts of the Capital Region. The Gallery houses a permanent collection of works by Stanley C. Opalka, a Polish-born artist who was a leader in the contemporary art movement in the 1970s and 1980s, in addition to rotating exhibitions of art from various regional artists.
