It is about 49 meters high and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area. History of Kakolat Waterfall

In local mythology, a king was cursed by a Hindu saint to become a python and live at Kakolat waterfall. During the exile of Pandavas - the five brothers in the Mahabharatha epic, they visited the falls and lifted the king from the curse. The king in turn proclaimed that anyone who bathes in the waterfall would never be reborn as a snake. Every year, this local mythology results in a lot of Hindu devotees coming to the fall to take a bath.
