Cathedral Shrine Parish of Saint JosephThe city’s church and convent were built in 1714 by Dominican Fr. Agustin Esquivel and renovated by Fr. Benito Rivas who strengthened the church by raising and fortifying its wall. During World War II, the cathedral was used by the Japanese 14th Army as an artillery emplacement to bombard Mt. Samat, where the Filipino-American troops were making their last stand. It is one of the historically important palce in this area and it is always crowded by the tourists.

Battery WayBattery Way is armed with four 12-inch mortar carriages capable of firing highly explosive shells as far as 8.3 miles or 13.35 km in any direction. Each mortar required a crew of at least 14 men to load and fire the shells. The mortars could be lifted to a trajectory between 45 to 70 degrees, which made them ideal for targeting enemies entrenched in higher ground in Bataan. The battery was named after Second Lt. Henry Way of the 4th U.S. Artillery, who died in service in the Philippines in 1900.

Mount Mariveles
The small, but voluminous Mariveles stratovolcano is located at the southern end of the Bataan Peninsula, on the west side of Manila Bay, Luzon Island, Philippines. Although there are no known eruptions in historic times, it is a still active stratovolcano of andesitic composition. It has a 4-km-wide caldera open to the south. Mount Slamet on the north and Mount Limay on the east are 2 large, young flank cones.
