Capitol ComplexCapitol Complex located in the sector-1 of Chandigarh city in India is a government compound designed by the architect Le Corbusier[1] and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is spread over an area of around 100 acres and is a prime manifestation of Chandigarh's architecture. It comprises three buildings, three monuments and a lake, including the Palace of Assembly or Legislative Assembly, Secretariat, High Court, Open Hand Monument, Geometric Hill and Tower of Shadows.
Rock Garden, Chandigarha sculpture garden founded by Nek Chand Saini, a government official who started the garden secretly in his spare time in 1957. Today it is spread over an area of 40 acres (16 ha). It is completely built of industrial and home waste and discarded items.

Sukhna LakeThe manmade picturesque Sukhna Lake in the foothills of the Shivalik range is an idyllic place for quiet communion with nature and for offering water sports activities such as boating, yachting, water skiing, etc. The creation of Lake was one of the greatest gifts from Le Corbusier and P L Varma Chief Engineer. To preserve its tranquility Corbusier insisted that it be forbidden to motorboats and the top of the dam (promenade) prohibited to vehicular traffic.

If you want to visit the LeCorbusier government buildings then the tourist information is an essantial place to visit. At 10 AM, 12 and 3PM you can sign up there for a free tour. This will enable you to look at the assembley and the other buildings in the Capitol Complex. You can take pictures from outside but not from inside. It is the highlight of our India trip :)
