About Valdres Folkemuseum
The Valdres Folkemuseum in Fagernes was founded in 1901 and with its 105 buildings it is one of the largest open-air museums in the country. It is beautifully situated on the peninsula Storøye on the banks of Lake Strandefjorden in Fagernes. Langsua National ParkLocated between Valdres and Gausdal and has a unique low-mountain landscape and extensive marshes in the south and northwest, and heights up to 1500 m.a.s.l in the north. Langsua offers many hiking- and cycling opportunities in light mountain terrain. The park consists of a total protected area of 537.1-square-kilometer.
BitihornA friendly Peak to Trek near Beitostolen. Taking a bus or car towards Bygdin travel for approximately 10km. Park at the lap camp by the lake at Stavtjednet and follow the marked trek to the summit of Bitihorn. A beautiful place to have some nice time and a little bit of adventure.
BygdinA beautiful lake located near to the Jotunheimen mountain range. Along the lake, there are many tourist huts. In the summer these huts are connected by boat and in winter by ski or snowmobile. A memorial was raised in 1909 to the Norwegian poet Aasmund Olavsson Vinje at the western end of Lake. This is one of the nice tourist places in this area and a lot of people visits this place every day.
Hallingdal MuseumIt is one of the oldest open-air museums in Norway. The museum has 30 historic buildings and some 30,000 artifacts from the region of Hallingdal.
