GiskeGiske is an island in Giske Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It covers an area of 2.67 square kilometers. It is flat, with the highest point 23 meters above the mean sea level. The island is connected by the Giske Bridge to the neighboring island of Valderøya to the east and by the Godøy Tunnel to the island of Godøya to the southwest. Giske Church, dating back to the 12th century, sits on the southern coast of the island.
Atlantic Sea-ParkThe Atlantic Sea-Park is an aquarium in Ålesund, Norway. It was founded in 1951 as a limited company. The current facility was officially opened 15 June 1998. The Atlantic Sea-Park is one of Scandinavia's largest saltwater aquariums and one of the leading tourist attractions in the area. Founded in 1951 as a limited company, the Aquarium moved in 1967 into more permanent premises in the basement of the "Fishermen House" near Brosundet. In 1976 the aquarium was turned into a foundation.
ValderøyValderøya or Valderøy is an island off the west coast of Norway. It is part of the Giske Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county. The island is connected to the city of Ålesund to the south via the Valderøy Tunnel to the island of Ellingsøy and then by the Ellingsøy Tunnel to Ålesund. Valderøya is also connected to the island Vigra to the north by a short bridge. It is also connected to the island of Giske to the west by the Giske Bridge.
Ålesund ChurchÅlesund Church was built in 1909 after the old church from 1854 was destroyed in the Great Town Fire of 1904. The church is built in concrete and Norwegian marble and is beautifully decorated with stained glass windows and frescoes. The church is usually closed on Monday and Saturday,
Borgund ChurchBorgund Church is situated in the old trading community Borgundkaupangen and is partially built on the remains of the old St. Peter's Church from the 12th century. Most parts of today's church are from 1904, with lovely carvings by Nicolai Mejdel og Hans Johannessen.
