About Highland Folk Museum

The Highland Folk Museum is a museum and open-air visitor attraction. The museum is primarily made up of three areas that represent and interpret three separate eras of the Scottish highlands. While some of the buildings on the museum site were built there, many have been relocated from other places around the highlands and reconstructed onsite.

BraeriachBraeriach is the third-highest mountain in the British Isles, surpassed only by Ben Nevis and Ben Macdui. It is the highest point in the western massif of the Cairngorms, separated from the central section by the pass of the Lairig Ghru. The summit has a crescent shape, with several corries. Probably the most commonly used route up Braeriach starts from Sugar Bowl car park, on the road leading to the Cairn Gorm ski area.

Sgòr an Lochain UaineSgor an Lochain Uaine, also known as "The Angel's Peak", is a striking summit, particularly when viewed from the Cairngorm-Macdui plateau. The Northeast ridge offers the climber an easy, but spectacular way directly to the summit. However, the Northeast face offers the skier a memorable experience descending towards Lochan Uaine. The Northwest face has been skied as well, but the line is unclear at this point.

A' Bhuidheanach BheagA' Bhuidheanach Bheag is a Scottish mountain situated on the eastern side of the Pass of Drumochter, some 24 km WNW of Blair Atholl. The mountain straddles the border between Highland and Perth and Kinross council areas although the actual summit is in the latter. This area is often dismissed as uninteresting countryside, however it does contain two Munros which draws many walkers to the locale. Cairn ToulCairn Toul is the fourth highest mountain in Scotland, The United Kingdom, and The British Isles, after Ben Nevis, Ben Macdui and Braeriach. The summit elevation is 1,291 metres AMSL. It is the second highest point in the western massif of the Cairngorms, linked by a bealach at about 1125 m above sea level to Braeriach.
