About Wildlife Park Peter and Paul
The Peter and Paul Wildlife Park is located on the Rosenberg hill northeast of St. Gallen in the Rotmonten district. It is part of an important local recreation area in the city. The wildlife park is home to various mainly native species such as ibex , chamois , lynx , deer , wild boar , marmots and wild cats. Admission is free and possible around the clock and all year round. The wildlife park has a visitor center. The park has a restaurant with a terrace. Botanical Garden St. GallenSet on 3 acres of land around the main building, the garden is home to 8,000 varieties of plants from all the continents, such as the giant-leaved rhubarb from Chili. A pergola has been erected in front of a water feature rich in bulrushes and reeds. Two tropical greenhouses provide shelter to cacti, palm trees, orchids, giant water lilies and so on.
Kirche St. LaurenzenThe St. Laurenzen Church is a federal monument and is considered a monument of national importance. It was built between 1850 and 1854 in neo-Gothic style. After climbing the tower, you will have a wonderful view over the roofs of St.Gallen. The church takes its name from the martyr Lawrence of Rometo whom it was dedicated to. KarlstorKarlstor is the only remaining gate of the original eight gates in the town wall. It is named after Cardinal Karl Borromäus of Milan who is supposed to have been the first person to go through the gate. It was built in the year of 1570.
