The Madaba Map, also known as the Madaba Mosaic Map, is part of a floor mosaic in the church. The Madaba Map is of the Middle East, and part of it contains the oldest surviving original cartographic depiction of the Holy Land and especially Jerusalem. The church is one of two places in Madaba where you can see the more than two thousand year old mosaics. In this case it is a historical map if the region. It is an interestingbsight to sea but the other place in town shows you a lot more mosaics and also offers explenations.
