Aberlady Bay Local Nature Reserve was the first site to be designated a Nature Reserve, in 1952. It comprises a complete set of habitats from low water right through to salt marsh and sand dune, unchanged by the influence of people. The area within the Reserve is extensive, and, in consequence, the paths across it take time to cover. Dogs are not welcome on the Reserve due to the potential for disturbing nesting and / or roosting birds.

The Allander Water is a river in East Dunbartonshire and Stirling, Scotland, and one of the three main tributaries of the River Kelvin, the others being the Glazert Water and the Luggie Water. The Allander Water rises in a number of streams off the Kilpatrick Hills and flows southeastwards forming the border between Dunbartonshire to the west and Stirlingshire to the east. At Milngavie it fully enters Stirlingshire, and soon reaches the River Kelvin.

Alva Glen is a spectacular gorge situated above the village of Alva at the foot of the Ochil Hills. It is a gem of a walk, offering broadleaf woodlands, waterfalls, paths with dramatic drops, and wonderful history about the Woollen Industry. To the north of the gardens, the path runs into a more rugged area offering views down into a steep gorge, it then passes the remnants of an old dam that supplied the mills with water.

Anternomy Loch is a freshwater lake in the Scottish Lowlands. Auchintaple Loch also known as Auchenchapel Loch, is a small shallow freshwater loch that is located in Glen Isla in Angus, Scotland. The loch is man-made, created by the Victorians so they could go trout fishing. Hidden in the landscape of Glen Isla, the loch measures 1.59km in length.

Backwater Reservoir

Backwater Reservoir is a reservoir in north west Angus, Scotland. The project was initiated by the Dundee Corporation Waterworks in 1964 and absorbed into the newly created East of Scotland Water Board in 1968, before final completion and the official opening by Queen Elizabeth II on 9 October 1969. It links with Lintrathen Reservoir, 2½ miles to the south, and supplies water to almost 300,000 people in Dundee, the towns of Angus as well as Coupar Angus, Blairgowrie and the Carse of Gowrie.

Baddinsgill Reservoir

Bardowie Loch has a dinghy sailing club. The dinghy section is part of the Clyde Cruising Club. It's a very peaceful spot which is used for sailing with the Clyde Cruising Club Dinghy Section at the eastern end of the site. On the northern side of the loch you'll also find the 16th century Bardowie Castle, a category A listed building.

Castle Semple Loch is a 1.5-mile-long inland freshwater loch at Lochwinnoch in Renfrewshire, Scotland. Originally part of an estate of the same name, it is now administered by Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park as a watersports centre. An RSPB bird sanctuary is located on the loch's southern shore. The ruins of the early mediaeval Peel Tower stand on the southern shore of the loch at Air Meadow, inaccessible except by boat.
