The Gasthaus Oberer Gäbris is located near the summit.

The Hohe Hirschberg can be easily reached on foot from Gais, the assembly point or Eggerestand. From the assembly point, a narrow road leads in the direction of Hoher Hirschberg, which can be driven almost to the mountain restaurant at 1168 m .

SäntisSäntis is the highest mountain in the Alpstein massif of northeastern Switzerland. It is also the culminating point of the whole Appenzell Alps, between Lake Walen and Lake Constance. The panorama from the summit is spectacular. Six countries can be seen if the weather allows: Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, France, and Italy.
