Mountain Passes to Explore in Vorarlberg
Bielerhöhe PassA high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.071m above the sea level, located in the Austrian Alps between the Bundesländer of Vorarlberg and Tyrol. The pass connects Montafon and the Paznaun valley. The pass is traversed by the Silvretta Hochalpenstraße High Alpine Road. Due to its exposed location the road is closed to normal traffic in winter at which time it can be reached only by cable car from Partenen.
FaschinajochThe Faschinajoch is a mountain pass in the Alps at 1486 m above sea level . It connects the valley of the Bregenzer Ach near Damüls with the valley of the Lutz near Faschina. It leads over the pass, which is well-developed and winter-proof . The eastern part of the route is very popular with motorcyclists .

The closest hiking base is the Lindauer Hütte , from which it takes about 2.5 hours to reach the Swiss Gate. In some passages the area requires good footwear, good surefootedness and a head for heights. Rapid cold spells can also occur in summer.
